I saw this coming. After all, every time Intel and/or Advanced Micro Devices launches a new processor, their OEM partners act on their related plans.

In this case, now that the Intel Ivy Bridge-E series of extreme-performance central processing units is out, PC makers are releasing computers powered by the newcomers.

Maingear is one such company, as is Velocity Micro.

Long story short, the two companies have updated their existing systems and/or launched new ones that have storage, memory and graphics capabilities worthy of the 6-core, overclockable monster CPUs with Turbo Boost 2, 4-channel DDR3-1866 memory and up to 15 MB cache.

I am sure that more desktop creators will make similar announcements this week. Sure, the systems are a bit overkill, but that's always been a trait of high-end gaming systems and workstations.
