No matter if we're in the second day of this new year and most people enjoy their last free days before going back to work, I can't say that today can't be a good day for cleaning. Well, probably some cleaning around the house is required too, especially if you had a wild party during the night linking the last year with the young one. I can't tell you what a nightmare is house cleaning for me, so I'll get to the cleaning task that I enjoy almost every time, and I am talking about computer cleaning, of course.

Liberer is a computer application that can help people that need to perform maintenance tasks. Obviously, this is about maintaining your Mac, and even better, in the next 20 hours, you can get it from MacUpdate for a mere 4.99$, which is 33% less than 7.50$, the usual retail price. This program from Untitled Software is available as a Universal Binary compatible with both PowerPC and Intel based Macs, and if you want to give it a try before you buy, that shouldn't be much of a problem.

So... what can be done with Liberer, after all? First, there are the Library related features - the icon-illustrated /Library and ~/Library browser, the Library Searcher that allows you to find files related to the searched text and the Font Browser, but this is not all! Additional features allow you to extract music, pictures and movies from the iTunes and iPhoto libraries, backup items from your library, as well as install new ones with only one click!

The Preferences related features allow you to find and remove old and/or empty preferences files, and the last features of Liberer allow you to delete .DS_Store files from selected folders and more, so if you're ready to start the new year using this program and maintaining your computer... hurry up! There are 20 hours remaining!
