Nintendo is set to release a brand new Wii U firmware update in April and, in order to showcase the improvement it brings in terms of speed to the console's interface, the company has posted a comparison video showcasing a Wii U running the current firmware and one running the new software.

The Wii U was released last year and, while the console is quite powerful and capable of running games for it without any problem, navigating its interface is pretty cumbersome and filled with lengthy loading screens.

Nintendo wants to fix this issue and has confirmed that a firmware update that will go live in April will directly target this issue.

In order to showcase this, a comparison video has been posted, showing a Wii U running the current firmware and one with the new software.

Each are tasked with exiting a game in progress and the new software enables the console to complete the task much faster than the unit with the old firmware.

The new update will go live in the following weeks.
