The development team at Relic and publisher SEGA are launching a new major update for their strategy title Company of Heroes 2, which adds a number of new maps, fixes some issues with the core mechanics and significantly changes small arms weapons profiles.

Stalingrad and Angermuende have been added to the map rotation and the bigger list of all the changes implemented are offered on the official forums for CoH2.

Relic adds that the changes made to the small arms weapons profiles are designed to increase the importance that gamers should place on positioning relative to cover.

The developers explain that, “The distribution of damage is no longer blended between ranges; this combined with the increased weapon lethality should reduce the tendency to rush infantry at one another.”

Company of Heroes 2 grenades have also received some changes, which should make them more lethal and a wide variety of units have seen big changes to their stats and their special abilities.

Dedicated multiplayer gamers should take a look at the extensive list mod tweaks made by Relic, which will really change the way matches are played.

Relic and SEGA have promised that they will continue to deliver both free updates and more downloadable content for Company of Heroes 2.
