Gamers will have to deal with snow, ice and extreme cold

Developer Relic has released a bunch of new screenshots of Company of Heroes 2, the World War II real-time strategy game, designed to show the effect that weather will have on the various scenarios.

The game is focused on the Eastern Front and will use the Essence Engine 3.0 and its special ColdTech in order to simulate the effects of extreme weather.

Ice will be laid across rivers and lakes, allowing attackers quick crossing, but also giving the defenders a chance to sink them, while snow will make it easier to track enemy movements, but it will also slow down all attacking vehicles and groups of infantry.

And above all, gamers will have to deal with the extreme cold of the Russian winter, one of the biggest enemies of the German army in real life, which makes infantry especially vulnerable as long as they are not garrisoned or lack a fire.
