Good Energy, a British energy company based in Chippenham, Wiltshire, has recently announced that it wants to build a new wind farm in North Cornwall, UK.

Thus, the company has submitted a planning application concerning this project to Cornwall Council, and is now expecting to be given the thumbs up to move forward with this initiative.

Information made available to the public says that the proposed facility, dubbed The Big Field Wind Farm, will comprise a total of 11 turbines.

According to Business Green, the energy generating capacity of these turbines is to amount to 25.3 megawatts.

If specialists working with Good Energy are right, then the wind farm's output will suffice to meet the demand of about 13,500 households.

The same source tells us that the company plans to rely on Cornish and South West suppliers as much as possible during both construction and operation, and thus ensure that the wind farm benefits local economy.

Besides, it would appear that Good Energy wants to also invest in a learning center that will be located on the wind farm's premises, and that will serve to educate children living in the region with respect to the need to protect the environment by promoting the use of renewables.

“We believe The Big Field Wind Farm can provide a lasting positive legacy for the environment and the local community, and we are proud to put our name to it,” Juliet Davenport with Good Energy said in a statement.

Furthermore, “Having consulted locally for over a year, we believe this project meets all planning requirements and supports both local and national renewables targets.”
