If you thought Rambus was bad, wait till you see what NovelPoint Security LLC is up to.

Or don't wait at all. The company already caused the eyebrows of more or less everyone on the IT industry to raise.

Suing pretty much every PC maker and other technology firm in the world tends to do that.

35 companies have been targeted by this patent infringement lawsuit.

The two patents describe a "network security system allowing access" based on master tokens and a "method for limiting computer access to peripheral devices."

Apple, Dell, Panasonic, Samsung, Sony, Toshiba, Motorola, Motion Computing, Acer, ASUS, HP and Lenovo are just a few of the defendants.

NovelPoint wants payments from all of them, making this one of the boldest and straightforward patent trolling attempts so far.
