It can easily be used by adults as well, but its size and shape makes it kid-friendly

With all the 3D printers selling or on the way, one cannot really complain about a lack of options. However, when it comes to introducing children to the technology, things can get a bit troublesome.
It's not so bad for pre-teens and up, as evident from how even 10-year-old girls can turn a 3D printed Cyborg Beast hand into a science project.
With younger people, though, you need something small and straightforward to use, but which also poses no danger. After all, you wouldn't want your kid to stick their hands under the superheated nozzle while your back is turned.
Chinese company King SDom has now revealed the Doodle Dream 3D Printer, a perfectly cubic printer with a build volume of 150 x 120 x 110 mm / 5.90 x 4.72 x 4.33 inches.
Altogether, the product measures 300 x 300 x 300 / 11.81 x 11.81 x 11.81 inches, but the internal motors and nozzle, as well as the build plate, need a fair bit of space, hence the build volume can't be square like the overall product.
ABS and PLA plastics are supported by the extruder (so you can't make that Apple “iWatch” strap we've just found) and has an accuracy of 100 microns. You can input virtual models via USB ,Wi-Fi and TF cards.
The King SDom Doodle Dream 3D Printer will become available later this year if the Kickstarter campaign raises the required CAD $100,000 / $93,000 / €69,000. The minimum pledge is of CAD $600 / $548 / €414.
