Naturally, if brand vendors experience a huge increase in laptop sales, the companies that actually manufacture them will benefit too.

Notebook sales grew 20% in March, with HP, Lenovo and Dell being the most successful.

What many people might not know is that those companies don't actually manufacture their laptops.

Instead, they come up with the blueprints and pay others to assemble them.

Compal is a major supplier, for Dell and Acer in particular, though orders vary. Lately, it has been taking more and more tablet orders too.

That is why, as reported by Digitimes, Compal experiences a shipment growth of 40% last month for laptops and tablets put together.

Notebook shipments were of 3.8 million (Dell was mostly the cause) while tablets reached 400,000, give or take a few dozen or hundred.
