Logitech just announced the launch of a new audio speaker system, the Logitech AudioHub Notebook Speaker System with Integrated USB Hub, which delivers exceptional high quality audio in a unconventional design as it combines a 2.1 one-piece speaker system and three integrated Hi-Speed USB ports in a compact form that fits neatly behind most notebooks, so mobile computer users will be able to benefit from both a high quality audio experience and a higher number of USB ports available to
them.

"Today, a broad range of people, not just traditional road warriors are using their notebooks as their primary home computer and digital music platform", said Tim Leehane, director of product marketing for Logitech's audio business, who was cited in the company's press release concerning this product. "As this trend grows, people are adding peripherals" for example, webcams and wireless mice "to their notebook stations. The Logitech AudioHub provides an elegant, one-stop notebook solution that allows people to manage their peripherals and enhance their listening experience." Specially designed for notebook users, the AudioHub speaker system comes with an adjustable three-chamber speaker that also integrates a subwoofer for a balanced audio output between high and low sounds. An integrated Mute button switches off the sound system without powering down the USB hub unit.

As the number of USB compliant devices that can be attached to a mobile computer system is ever increasing, while the number of high speed USB ports is somewhat limited when we are talking about notebooks or laptops, the new device from Logitech is able to act as a USB hub and extend the number of useful USB ports by three. As the Logitech AudioHub is connected to the host computer system only through the USB port, disconnecting it is very simple, as users need only to pull the plug from the port. In order to be easily transportable, the Logitech AudioHub measures only three and a half inches in height, presenting a sleek and low profile that can fit anywhere and thanks to the adjustable speakers, users may experience even a truly surround sound. The Logitech AudioHub notebook speaker system is going to hit the American and European markets in October and it will sport a price tag of $99.99.
