Commodore. Just saying that name brings back memories to many users who took advantage of the gaming platform, when there was nothing else available on the market. The company has made a daring comeback in March with a new line of custom built PCs. Interestingly enough, the market is already filled with custom PC builders, such as Dell , Alienware, HP, Lenovo, VooDoo PC and other, but what Commodore relied on was their name, and the fame that they gathered over the years, hoping that this will somehow bring them success.

But you can't hope to come onto a market after you've missed out on many years of practice and experience, so they've pulled another trick from their sleeve, the C=kin (SKIN) custom case designs. You can put any kind of image or other sort of graphics on the casing, making it unique. Combine that with a very good sound isolation and the possibility of having more interchangeable faces for the case, and you get a product worth remembering. Even so, the outside is nothing if the inside doesn't attract the audience, so their configurations include quad-core Intel Core 2 Extreme processors, 680i-based motherboards, high-end memory modules, and even a pair of NVIDIA 8800GTX running in SLI for their high-end models.

In order to keep up with the computer industry, Commodore Gaming has introduced the NVIDIA GeForce 8500 and the GeForce 8600 series of video cards on the Commodore G and Commodore GS models. The first one, G, will have an 8500GT single card and the GS model will have 2 8600GTS running in SLI.

Sean Charles, Marketing Manager at Commodore Gaming, is quoted as saying: "It is always the goal of Commodore Gaming to offer the industry's best products, value for money, and innovation, and the benchmark results of these cards are truly impressive. Using one or two mid range GeForce 8 GPU instead of a high end GeForce 7 GPU means less heat and, of course, is DirectX? 10 compatible"

Alain Tiquet, NVIDIA Group Marketing Director EMEA and India, adds: "With the launch of these GPUs we are opening up DirectX? 10 to a whole new audience. Not only will consumers enjoy a fantastic gaming experience, they can also turn their Gaming PC into a great value HD home cinema thanks to NVIDIA? PureVideo? HD technology that delivers outstanding video performance. We're very pleased to be working with Commodore Gaming in bringing these powerful and versatile new products to the market."
