A diver in Russia has had to try unlatching his hand from the jaws of a monkfish. The animal is known to fishermen in the area as a sea-devil.

The commercial diver was apparently trying to probe the fish's tonsils when his hand became stuck in its mouth. As you can see, the animal's teeth are very sharp and he enlisted the help of an second diver.

According to a translation by Grind TV, the man first asked him how his hand got there, then suggested several ways of pulling it out.

They first try jamming a piece of wood to keep the fish's jaws open, and then they attempt to cut it with a fillet knife.

Since it is not sharpened, that doesn't work. They eventually manage to pull the man’s hand out using the stick.
