A James Bond concept brought to reality

SoftDash offers a solution for those that love their mobile phone so much that they would use it to do just about anything. This software is more of an interesting gadget that may actually prove useful on few occasions and makes more of a backup for situations when you forget your keys in the locked car.

For some time now, a rumor has been going by, claiming that under certain circumstances, the mobile phone can be used for unlocking a car. The main idea was that if someone forgets their keys and remote inside the car, there is still a solution. If that person's car does not have "OnStar" and there is a spare remote in the possession of another person, all that the car owner has to do is to call that person and ask him/her to press the unlock button when holding the remote very close to the cell phone.

The story is a bit hard to believe, even though many people claim to have succeeded when putting it to the test. The frequency difference between that used by car remotes and the one generated by mobile phones is enough to prove it impossible.

Enough with stories and magic, unexplainable car unlockings. Connect2Car offers, among several other devices to car connections, the possibility for anyone to command its car by phone. And all this on the grounds of a perfectly plausible concept, called SoftDash. The brain that does the magic is, in fact, a MFC Multi-Function Controller that uses Bluetooth connection for commanding the car.

SoftDash makes possible a wide range of possibilities, which include locking and unlocking the car, switching its headlights on, starting the engine and controlling its air-ride suspension and hydraulics.

SoftDash works with Bluetooth compatible devices such as Nokia 3250 and 6133, Samsung SCH IP 830W and Motorola i885, as well as with several Pocket PC Phones. The software is available for a free trial download at the Connect2Car website.
