Perhaps one of the most striking trailers to be screened at the San Diego Comic-Con 2014 was that for the eagerly anticipated “Mad Max: Fury Road,” which will reboot the “Mad Max” franchise that originally starred Mel Gibson. It was also released online shortly after its Comic-Con premiere.

This time, it’s Tom Hardy who will be playing lead but he’s not alone on his mission: Charlize Theron plays Imperator Furiosa and gets to co-headline the 2015 film.

Embedded below are two videos: the first one is the first official trailer, in case you missed it in my initial coverage of the event. The second one is the panel for the film, with director George Miller and producer Doug Mitchell.

Though neither star was on hand to promote the film, which was a bit of a letdown, Miller did his best to compensate by answering questions from fans to the best of his ability, while stressing he had no intention of revealing more than he had to about the plot.

He spoke about the film’s development, Charlize’s role, the production, and the story. He also placed enough emphasis on how he meant to create a film that would feel as a continuous action scene, which comes across very clearly in the trailer.

“Mad Max: Fury Road” has been through production hell and was delayed twice for reasons related to the production. It will be out in 2015, so here’s hoping Tom and Charlize will find time in their busy schedules to do some interviews about it as well. I for one would love to see more of them until the film comes out.
