14 DAY TRIAL // No word yet on whether Warner Bros. will be premiering footage from the insanely anticipated “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” at San Diego Comic-Con 2014 or if the Batmobile will be on show at the booth, as rumors from one month ago would have us believe, but at least we’re getting a pretty good look at the Batsuit.
Slash Film has photos from the Comic-Con exhibition floor, where part of the Batsuit was on show: it’s not the entire suit that Ben Affleck will wear in the film as seen in the photo above, but the trademark cape and cowl.
The movie-oriented e-zine says that the photos don’t do it justice because it looks wonderful up close, which will probably mean it will translate wonderfully to the big screen, especially in IMAX.
The Batsuit is all-black (no blues or dark greys), with the cape being truly a sight for sore eyes. “It was made of leather (or leather-like material at least), with a rough texture that made it look both elegant and tough. In short, it was just the kind of material a billionaire vigilante might pick out for himself,” Slash Film says.
Another noticeable thing about the combo is the fact that the cowl has permanently angry eyebrows etched onto it, which confirms what the studio has been saying about this new iteration of The Bat: it’s not the same superhero we saw in Christopher Nolan’s “Dark Knight” trilogy because this one is tired, old and not really with his heart in it anymore.
Bale’s Batman didn’t have those angry eyebrows, but then again, he was only tired and sick and out of the game for a very short while.
“Batman V. Superman” will be out in 2016 and will see Affleck starring opposite Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Jesse Eisenberg and Jeremy Irons. Jason Momoa is also rumored to appear in it, as Aquaman.
