14 DAY TRIAL // After teasing fans with viral videos doubling as messages from the Capitol meant to smother all desire of rebellion across Panem, at San Diego Comic-Con 2014, Lionsgate introduced the first actual teaser trailer for “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1.”
The film will be out in theaters this November and will be the first part of the final chapter of one of the most beloved action film franchises of the moment. This is the part where Katniss Everdeen, after participating for the second time in the Hunger Games, manages to escape and is taken to District 13, the one the Capitol said it didn’t exist anymore.
This is the center of the resistance, where Katniss is welcomed as a hero. At the same time, she is expected to join forces with the rebels and lead them into war.
Unlike the virals, with this teaser we’re getting actual footage from the film and a first proper look into life of District 13. And yes, Katniss is ready to fight!
This teaser trailer also ties in wonderfully with the guerrilla-type poster released for the film at the convention, which is included in the gallery below.
“Mockingjay Part 1” is the second to last installment in the “Hunger Games” franchise, based on the best-selling novels by Suzanne Collins. It stars Jennifer Lawrence, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Julianne Moore, and Donald Sutherland.
