If you’re a fan of the superhero genre, be it in movies, comic books, games, or the action figures inspired by all these, the best place to be right now is the Comic-Con 2014 convention held in San Diego, the biggest multi-genre event of its kind.

So far, this year, it has been particularly fun to be a fan of Batman, aka the Caped Crusader. Warner Bros. is yet to reveal anything of importance from its upcoming film with the character, “Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice” from director Zack Snyder, but we’ve already had a pretty good look at the cape and cowl Ben Affleck will be wearing in it.

Suffice it to say that they look amazing, even though some fans are pointing out that the cowl is inflexible, which means that Batman won’t be able to turn his head without turning with his whole body in that direction.

If you’re into something a bit more dramatic and don’t mind seeing the Batsuit reinvented in unexpected ways, Comic-Con is also a good place to be because this is where Kingdom hearts creator and Final Fantasy designer Tetsuya Nomura is showcasing a new action figure, for Square Enix’s Play Arts Kai collection.

Above is a photo of Nomura’s completely unexpected Batman. He looks… scary, and not just for the criminals he might be seeking to bring to justice.

Polygon says that this is just a prototype, so if you like what you see, you’re out of luck: you can’t buy it just yet. On the bright side, “the figure is part of a new line of Batman figures designed by Nomura, so perhaps we'll get his interpretation of The Joker, Riddler, Penguin, Catwoman and more. Maybe even Robin.”

Until that happens, we still have more Comic-Con: the event will continue through the weekend, with Warners believed to release more details on “Dawn of Justice” on Saturday. The most optimistic scenarios even say that they might release the first trailer or at least a snippet from the film then.

Considering that Snyder used the “Man of Steel” panel last year to announce “Batman V. Superman,” it wouldn’t be that far-fetched to assume that Warners will use this amazing platform they have at their disposal to win favors with the fans. After the backlash they got for casting Ben Affleck, they can use some positive hype.

Enough about this Batman. Here’s one more look at Nomura’s more visually impressive rendition. With such a Batman roaming the streets of Gotham, crime would significantly go down, that’s for sure.
