Comic-Con 2013 attendees present at the “Big Bang Theory” panel the other day had the surprise of a lifetime when the “festivities” were kicked off by none other than world-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking.

Talk about a nerd’s dream come true.

Hawking, as fans of the show must know, is Sheldon Cooper’s idol, so it only made sense to have him kick off the fun.

Check out the video above for his hilarious and totally nerdy message.

“Sorry, I couldn't be there. I got a flat tire – that was a joke. Ha ha!” Hawking said.

“When I'm not playing Words With Friends with Sheldon, I like to think about the universe,” he added, before proceeding to explain the actual Big Bang Theory in just 17 words.

He also promoted his new book and a film based on his life.
