“The Amazing Spider-Man,” the most recent take on the beloved superhero with Andrew Garfield as lead, didn’t exactly break any records at the box office but it did make enough money to warrant a sequel.

The first official trailer for it premiered this weekend at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego but, since it’s not been released officially yet, chances are you won’t find it online just now.

However, Slash Film reports that it’s quite impressive, even though it clearly included unfinished footage.

“During today’s Comic-Con panel at Hall H, Sony showed off a reel — essentially a trailer — from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” the e-zine writes.

“The video was a rough one, with incomplete effects and a couple of storyboards, but it was enough to offer us a good sense of the movie. And what we saw was pretty fantastic,” it adds.

The trailer included a good look at the new villain, Electro, but also hinted at the tension between Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy because they can’t reconcile his superhero life with their romance.

“The Amazing Spider-Man 2” will be out in May 2014.
