Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman address fans with previously taped message

BBC One’s “Sherlock” is featured at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego but, unfortunately, not through its two leading men, Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman. Above is their message for the fans at the convention.

Freeman, as he puts it, was otherwise engaged shooting for “The Hobbit” so he couldn’t travel to San Diego to be on the “Sherlock” panel, but he does promise even more fun with season 3 of the miniseries.

Cumberbatch, on the other hand, doesn’t disclose his exact location but, as fans must know, he’s now in Japan promoting “Star Trek Into Darkness,” so chances are he pre-recorded this message here.

After some mumbling about getting the right project to promote (he’s hilarious, you have to admit), Cumberbatch proceeds to explaining how his character dies at the end of season 2 in “Sherlock.”

I will only say this: it involves a cabbage, a helicopter, and two stuffed monkeys.

Enjoy!
