A few days ago, Karl Urban told Comic-Con audiences in San Diego that, by the end of the week, he would be uploading a video on YouTube that he'd call “Star Trek Comic Con Sneak Peak.”

He also promised it would be the first footage from the insanely anticipated sequel to go online.

“I’m not messing with you. I’m not one to do that. There is gonna be some very special footage coming out this weekend for comic con. A Star Trek exclusive coming to YouTube,” he said.

Well, he wasn't technically lying because it's both “special” and “exclusive,” even if it's only remotely Trek-related.

Check it out above.

The video shows Urban, who plays Bones in the film, surfing on a Cage the Elephant song. At precisely 3:46 into the video, 10 full seconds of Trek-related material is introduced, of director J.J. Abrams wrapping production on the film.

Urban didn't lie, you can't argue with that.
