According to the latest news on the Web, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is preparing the launch of its Comes With Music online portal on a new market, namely India. As many of you might already know, the company already launched the service in a few markets around the world, including UK and Singapore, and it is also expected to soon make it available in Australia, while US users will also benefit from it sometime this year.

Indian users will probably have to buy special-edition phones that come with support for the Comes With Music service. The handsets come with subscriptions for the service for one or two years, and users will then have to buy a new special device so as to be able to benefit from Comes With Music for another period of time.

One appealing feature that Nokia's music portal brings to users is the fact that they are allowed to keep the songs they download even after the ending of the service period. To put it differently, whatever they download during said period of time is theirs to keep. In addition, Nokia includes the fee for the service within the price of the device, although carriers would charge for the data transfers. At the same time, users can access the service either from their mobile devices or from their personal computers.

Mr. Chandan Dang, regional general manager at Nokia India, stated that the company might offer its Comes With Music service with low-end devices, a move that would appeal to a wider range of consumers in the country. For the time being, no specific details on the availability of the service in India have been unveiled, but we shouldn't wait too long before seeing it launched, as it should come “in the first half of this year.”
