Comedian Kevin Hart was arrested last night on suspicion of DUI and spent the night in jail until he was released on bond. He’s already confirmed the incident on his Twitter.

Police documents state that Hart was driving erratically, almost crashed into a gas tanker truck and then, to cap it all off, resisted arrest.

“The California Highway Patrol confirms to E! News that the comedian was arrested under suspicion of DUI around 4:30 a.m. today after officers spotted Hart driving erratically at a high rate of speed and witnessed him almost colliding with a gas tanker truck. He was pulled over after failing a field sobriety test and was arrested,” E! Online reports.

“The actor was held at Van Nuys jail on $5,000 [€3,824] bond but was subsequently released and took to Twitter to discuss the incident,” the same media outlet says.

Indeed, Hart did take to Twitter to explain the incident but, as the video below will confirm, he did the same while talking to the paparazzi on his way out of jail.

Hart doesn’t deny that he was drunk but he’s refuting that part in which he nearly crashed into a gas tanker or tried to resist arrest.

He explains that he was pulled over just one exit before his own, and reveals that he instantly admitted to cops that he was drunk.

As for the resisting arrest part, Hart chalks it up to a mere misunderstanding caused by his telling the officers to hold on cuffing him until he removed his watch.

On Twitter, after a couple of jokes about the situation, Hart says he’s learned his lesson and promises he’ll never put himself in such a situation again.

“On some real [expletive]....drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid [expletive] this! This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't....everything happens for a reason....,” he writes.
