Sports a wide range of connectivity options, but no WiFi

By now, pretty much everybody known that Comcast plans to start experimenting with web-connected set top boxes, but until recently these devices were unveiled by a shroud of mystery.

All this changed however just a short while ago when the FCC’s hallways welcomed ‘Parker’, the outfit’s first, and so far only, web-connected STB.

Bringing with it both a user manual and a picture of its rear, Parker includes all the usual connectivity options such as coax, HDMI, composite and component, in addition to a CableCARD slot.

An eSATA port and a SD memory card slot spice things up even more, although it seem like the latter was only added for servicing the box.

Sadly, the good impression that Parker left to us so far is somewhat ruined by the lack of WiFi, which will force us to add yet another wire to our home entertainment setup.
