Customers are really unhappy with the services they are paying for

Comcast and Time Warner Cable offer the worst services, or at least that’s what their customers believe.

According to the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) that was released earlier, the two companies ranked the lowest in the Internet service market, as well as in the subscription TV and fixed-line telephone service markets.

The two companies are currently trying to merge in a multi-billion deal, as they claim to be afraid of the competition and saying, at the same time, that mixing their two huge networks together wouldn’t damage the industry at all.

Under current circumstances, it seems likely that they’re just trying to create the top most hated company in the entire United States. The alternative is that they’d finally start doing their job properly and delivering customers the services they expected when they agreed to pay big money on monthly subscriptions.

“The combination of low and downward-trending customer satisfaction for both Comcast and Time Warner Cable is cause for concern amid merger talks between the two companies. The issue at stake is not that the proposed merger will limit competition, as the service territories of the two companies do not overlap,” reads the ACSI report.

“Instead, it is the question of whether a combination of two pay-TV providers with such poor records could possibly create a better customer experience, especially given the volume of evidence from ACSI data suggesting that mergers in service industries tend to damage satisfaction—at least in the short term,” it adds.

Not only are the two companies the most hated companies in the industry, but the Internet Service Providers industry is in fact the least appreciated among all.

This isn’t the first time that Comcast has ended up at the bottom of the list. In fact, last month, as he tried to convince members that the Time Warner Cable merger should be allowed, the company’s Executive Vice President David Cohen told the Senate Judiciary Committee that the company was disappointed about its current status.

Even so, he claimed that billions had been spent to improve the networks, call center employee training and service reliability.

Comcast has been accused of throttling Internet speeds for customers of services such as Netflix, which has eventually pushed the video streaming company to sign a deal with the ISP to access the Internet fast lane, basically getting priority over other services. It has also been one of the top lobbyists against net neutrality.
