Though there are already several GTX 460 of well over 800MHz, they have just been trounced quite thoroughly by the new beast revealed by Colorful, the iGame 460, which has a massive, custom design and the GF104 graphics processing unit programmed at no less than 900MHz.

As consumer know, the GTX 460 is NVIDIA's performance-grade Fermi card, tasked with acting as the DirectX 11 graphics solution for the upper level of the mainstream market.

Its main asset is that, while quite capable, it does not have the high heat generation of its more powerful siblings, the GTX 470 and GTX 480.

Thus, NVIDIA's partners have been able to seriously overclock the GPU to well over 800 MHz, even though the base clock is of 675 MHz.

Now, Colorful has brought out a model, the iGame 460. which makes clock speeds of 850 MHz seem lackluster.

The new card has the GF104 programmed at 900 MHz, which is a massive jump from NVIDIA's base setting os 675 MHz and, thus, requires special technologies if the card is to be kept stable and cool.

Thus, Colorful outfitted the model with a proadlizer capacitor, for stability, as well as a large cooler with four heatpipes, two aluminum heatsinks, a backplate and two fans.

What's more, the board boasts 6+1 phase power and voltage read points.

As for specifications, the model features 336 CUDA cores, a shader frequency of 1,800 MHz, 1GB of GDDR5 clocked at 4,200 MHz, a 256-bit memory interface and SLI support.

As a comparison, the reference clocks are of, as already mentioned, 675 MHz for the GPU, 1,350 for the shaders and 3,600 Hz for the VRAM.

Finally, for compatibility with a wide range of displays, Colorful designed the adapter with HDMI and dual-DVI outputs.

Unfortunately, the product has not yet been priced and will only start selling, on the Asian market, in September.
