A computer system utilized by The College of New Jersey since 2002 to store information on students who were applying for jobs on campus was discovered to reveal the details of other applicants to those who enrolled in the program.

A student noticed the error when he tried to apply for a job and realized that he could see the information belonging to 12 other students, reports NJ.

“Though there is no indication that any of the additional 12,815 records contained in the system were accessed by any unauthorized individual, the possibility exists that the database could have been accessed through this vulnerability,” reads a statement from the college.

All the students involved were notified and offered a one-year membership to a credit monitoring service to make sure no unfortunate situation results from the incident.
