Getting dirty this time of the year with Codemasters launching the Colin McRae: DIRT playable demo, now available for Xbox 360 gamers to download via Xbox LIVE Marketplace and for PC gamers right HERE on Softpedia, complete with a multiplayer event, as an extra feature.

The full game has been confirmed for release on the 15th June 2007 across all PAL territories, featuring a multitude of game modes such as Crossover, Hill Climb and C.O.R.R. (Championship Off-Road Racing), also available now for the Xbox 360 demo. The PC demo on the other hand, swaps mountains for multiplayer and enables up to 100 players to go head-to-head in a race for the best time over a point-to-point rally stage.

I know what you're asking: "why does the game have the same name if it's so different from one platform to another?" Don't worry; there are a lot of features that stayed the same with both 360 and PC installments.

For instance, the first event is a Crossover race with players competing against Colin McRae himself. Set in Germany, the Avelsbachring's, the smooth yet twisted tarmac racetrack is the perfect battleground for two AWD cars, whether it's Subaru, or Ford gamers choose to drive.

Be sure to check out PS3Zine for the full update on the racer: "Digital publications can present videogames in the best possible manner, and the Colin McRae preview and interview in this issue of P3Zine illustrate this perfectly - read the preview and look at the screenshots, watch the gameplay video, listen to the interview and then send us your thoughts on the game - all directly from the magazine page!" explains Dave Taylor, Publishing Director.

The full version of Colin McRae: DIRT is slated to drift into stores on the 15th June 2007 for Xbox 360 and PC, while the PS3 version of the game will be following shortly after. Don't waste anymore time. Scroll back up to the link and download you PC demo of Colin McRae: DIRT right now!
