Harmonix and MTV Games seem unable to slow down when it comes to putting out new content for their Rock Band line up of music simulation videogames. This week, the Rock Band download store will get new tracks from Coheed and Cambria, The Violent Femmes, Siouxsie & The Banshees and Supergrass. They will be available to all those who have picked up Rock Band for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 from Sony and the Nintendo Wii.

The list of songs that will be offered is dominated by Coheed and Cambria playing “Guns of Summer,” “Here We Are Juggernaut” and “The Broken.” The three songs from Coheed and Cambria are taken from the most recent album put out by the progressive and hard rock band, called “Year of the Black Rainbow,” which was launched on April 13.

Siouxsie & The Banshees contributed “Peek-a-Boo” from their ninth album, “Peepshow,” while Supergrass offers “Sun Hits the Sky” from “In It For the Money” and The Violent Femmes play “American Music” taken from “Why Do Birds Sing?” in their first appearance on Rock Band. Harmonix assures players that all the songs are modeled after master recordings.

The tracks will be available for interested buyers on the Xbox 360 and on the Wii today, while those gaming on the PS3 need to wait until Thursday, April 22, to have access to them. Those who are interested in picking them up on the Microsoft home platform will need to pay 160 Microsoft Points, whereas those using the Nintendo console will pay 200 Wii Points. Players who employ the Sony device will pay 1.99 dollars.

While putting out content for its online store, Harmonix is continuing to work on Rock Band 3, a game set to be launched in the fall of this year. Those who need a fix of new music can also pick up Green Day: Rock Band, which arrives on June 8.
