Usually, when a company announces another casual game, the project doesn't manage to impress me too much, because I know I've already seen it at least a dozen times before. However, when Codeminion presented Ancient Quest of Saqqarah, they did
get my attention and I can say about the title that it was the only casual game I was really waiting to get my hands on and start playing. Fortunately, things are looking great at the moment, since the developers have just announced that Ancient Quest of Saqqarah is available for purchase.

What makes this puzzle game more interesting than others is its desire to be different - it doesn't just bring you classic match-3 mechanics to take all your money, basically offering nothing in exchange. It comes with no less than 500 hand-crafted puzzles spread over seven different gameplay types, it brings an original soundtrack created by the same people who did the score in The Witcher and a voice acting from Michael McMconnohie (Diablo 2, World of Warcraft), features all the other "2 hour puzzles" - as the developers name them - definitely don't bring us.

"We knew that the casual market is overflowing with tons of similar games. So our idea was not to make a puzzle game, but to make *the* puzzle game. With quality, length and variety never seen in this market before. We also wanted to attract more hardcore players and show them that puzzle games can be as exciting and great looking as AAA titles," explains Konrad Olesiewicz, game producer and Codeminion co-owner.

Ancient Quest of Saqqarah has already been praised by the casual gaming community, and I can honestly say that I was impressed too when it was announced and I will definitely give it a try. If you are planning to do the same, have in mind that the developers' official website offers a one hour-long trial of the game, so you can give it a try before buying it. Sounds like a fair deal, right?
