Codemasters is working hard on the upcoming Grid 2 racing simulator and has revealed that, at least for now, it’s not ruling out the possibility of bringing it onto the Nintendo Wii U, not just for the PC, PS3, or Xbox 360.

Racing games from Codemasters have stood out thanks to their sharp gameplay and their top notch graphics, so quite a lot of people are looking forward to the release of the new Grid 2 next year.

According to the studio’s Associate Producer, Iain Smith, the game is currently being made for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, but the developer isn’t ruling out a Nintendo Wii U version once the game takes shape.

"It's not being ruled out certainly," Smith told Joystiq, "and certainly [that applies] across all Codemasters titles. Some platforms are more appropriate for certain types of games, but we just have to make decisions as and when they're appropriate. We can't say too much more at the moment."

As of yet, not a lot of racing games have been confirmed for the Wii U, so the arrival of Grid 2 next year onto it might be a big win for fans of the genre and future owners of the console.
