In light of Apple's iPhone SDK release, the co-founder of Widget Monkeys and founder of Widget Monkey Games, David Janik-Jones has announced the launch of the Cocoa Touch Games web site. Four Cocoa Touch titles are already advertised on the site, as the group focuses on games for Apple's iPhone and iPod touch.

"Cocoa Touch Games will create fun, simple, joyful games that will sell for $1.99 each on Apple's upcoming App Store and iTunes starting in the summer of 2008. Our goal is to create fun, simple, joyful casual games for the iPhone and iPod Touch that kids and adults will be able to pick up and play immediately, and have the same simplicity and charm as our highly popular Widget Monkey widgets that have been downloaded more than 750,000 times."

Care to know what you'll be able to download at 2 bucks a piece in June, when Apple rolls out firmware 2.0 for your iPhone/iPod touch? Sure you do.

First up, Bug Bounce. In this game, Cocoa Touch Games wants players to avoid the enemy bugs that spawn and bounce around the screen for as long as they can. Players control their character with their fingertip, using the iPhone's/iPod touch's touchscreen feature. Online high scores will be available.

CocoaBot throws players in the iron boots of CocoaBot who needs to find a friend and escape through ten levels of the dangerous factory he is trapped in. Players move CocoaBot by tipping right or left and jump by tipping upwards. This game also makes use of just the touchscreen capabilities of the iPhone/iPod touch.,

In Cocoa Marbles, players are tasked with clearing the marbles off the level boards by moving a cue ball with your fingertip. It features special bonuses, obstacles, online high scores and a simply relaxing gameplay.

FlickCar, on the other hand, does something that the first three games don't. It uses the iPhone's/iPod touch's accelerometer allowing you to "flick" your car around the tracks and post your best scores online based on time taken and number of flicks.

Cocoa Touch Games was founded in 2008 by David Janik-Jones, co-founder of the popular Widget Monkeys and founder of Widget Monkey Games. Xcode savvy developers, or devs who know Cocoa/Objective-C programming with good OpenGL and OpenAL knowledge are encouraged to contact Cocoa Touch Games and partner up with them.

Each game will be developed by a two- or three-person team of programmers and artists, and will be sold through the App Store and iTunes beginning June 2008. Each game will go for $1.99.
