Gives visitors 3D printed mini-versions of themselves

Maybe I should have seen this coming, especially given my personal liking of the 3Doodler 3D printer: Coca Cola has joined the group of 3D printer supporters.

Or maybe I should say Coca Cola has already incorporated 3D printing into its marketing tactics. In an effort to promote its new mini bottles, it organized a visit to a certain 3D printing lab where visitors were scanned and given 3D printed mini versions of themselves.

This was late last month, and contributed to Quantum International's conclusion that all relevant companies, regardless of focus, will use 3D printing before long.

Obviously, Quantum International wants to secure a share of the market from the onset, but its press release drew my attention more for the significance of its conclusions in regard to the world at large. I can almost see 3D printing services cropping up everywhere and being managed by more than one patron company.
