9.7-inch device unfortunately lacks Android Market and Google apps support

Even though this year's CES was, as always, crowded with products launched by the big players, there were some smaller companies that made a showing as well.

One of them is Coby, whose Kyros 9.7-inch tablet may actually see some success.

After all, even with Android 4.0 and a 9.7-inch display of 1,024 x 768 pixels, it sells for under $200 (158 Euro).

A 1 GHz Cortex processor, backed by 1 GB of RAM, handles whatever files are stored on the 8GB of flash storage, as well as whatever memory card users choose to add on top of that.

Wi-Fi is present, but no one is sure about a camera being there as well.

Unfortunately, the lack of Android Market access and Google Apps support on the Kyros MID9742-8 is not a point in its favor.
