Seems like wherever you look these days there seems to be one or two iPhone accessories popping up, Cobra's iRadar taking quite a new approach to radar detection, this device pairing itself with your iPhone to provide you with informations regarding laser guns as well as upcoming speed/red light cameras and other potential “hazards”.

Built inside a sleek and compact chassis, this unit comes packed with advanced sensors that can detect all radar and laser guns on the market, according to Cobra, all the info gathered being sent via Bluetooth to your iPhone so you can view past alert locations on a map, mark locations, while also displaying your speed, compass heading and car battery voltage.

Furthermore, the iPhone app can control the iRadar's alert notifications settings, the device also being able to work as a standalone radar detector if you so desire.

Doing so however, will disable Cobra's own AURA Camera and Driving Hazard Database (available at no extra cost) which enables drivers to receive alerts for speed and red light camera locations as well as other driving hazards by using the iPhone's GPS, the database being updated daily.

"The Cobra iRadar Detection System is truly revolutionary," said Sally Washlow, senior vice president of marketing and sales for Cobra Electronics.

"It pairs Cobra's industry-leading radar/laser detection technology with iPhone's exceptional display and GPS capabilities to create a truly new standard for detection systems.

What makes using Cobra's iRadar system so remarkable is that it not only provides drivers an unprecedented amount of crucial information, it does so with clarity and convenience," concluded Mr. Washlow.

Price wise, the Cobra iRadar Detection System comes with a suggested retail price of $169.95, the iRadar App, along with the AURA Camera and Driving Hazard database, being available for free from Apple's App Store.
