Clumsy Lion Tries to Climb a Tree, Gets Stuck in the Branches

Most people are well familiar with the sight of firefighters rushing in to save a kitten which somehow got all the way up to the highest branch in a tree, but now finds it impossible to get back on the ground.

As the picture above shows, lions are not all that different from pet cats, at least from this standpoint.

The picture was taken by an amateur photographer during his visit to Kenya's Masai Mara National Park, who now states that it was quite funny to witness this lion cub's attempts to free itself from the branches it was so eager to explore up close only a couple of minutes before.

“You could tell that as soon as he got himself stuck that he immediately regretted the decision to go climbing in the trees.”

“It was as if he forgot he was a lion and thought he was a monkey instead,” photographer Alexey Tishchenko told members of the press while recollecting this experience.
