This is not how it works, this is not how any of this works

A most amusing incident happened in Oslo, Norway, just the other day. A clueless pigeon somehow broke into a man’s kitchen, trashed the place and, to top it all off, laid an egg in a frying pan left on the stove.

There’s even a video to prove that this really happened. Worry not, you can’t find it below.

The man whose kitchen was turned into a nursery complete with a baby crib by the disoriented pigeon admits that, when he first returned home on Monday and saw what the place looked like, he wasn’t exactly thrilled.

When he laid eyes on the egg in the frying pan, however, he couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

“It was chaos and a lot of feathers,” Stian Fjellstad told the press in an interview, as cited by Metro. “I had to clean and the kitchen was a total mess,” the Oslo resident went on to add.

Apparently, a pair of pigeons kept a close eye on the man the entire time he scrubbed away at his kitchen. They looked so sad and confused the man felt a tad guilty about having damaged their love nest.

What about the egg?

Since it’s not all that often that pigeons break into people’s homes and turn frying pans into cribs for their future offspring, the man had some trouble figuring out what to do with the egg left behind by the feathered perpetrator.

Somebody suggested that he fry it and eat it. A pigeon enthusiast, on the other hand, told Stian Fjellstad that he should look after the egg, hatch it and raise the chick himself.

However, as an employee of the Norwegian Environment Agency, the man thought that he should just take the pigeon egg with him to work and study it.

“We may find traces of pollutants, in that way the egg will come to some use,” the Oslo resident explained his idea. Of course, he could simply return the egg to its parents and let them figure out what to do with it.
