14 DAY TRIAL // AMD's recently introduced Radeon HD 5670 has seen quite a number of customized versions being released by hardware manufacturers such as MSI, HIS and Gigabyte. Jumping on the bandwagon is Club 3D with two Redwood GPU-based cards that have stock clocks but a special, dual-slot cooling solution with an ultra quiet 90mm cooling fan.
The Club 3D HD 5670 comes in 512MB and 1GB 128-Bit GDDR5. The adapters are built with 400 stream processors and the ATI Stream technology, which accelerates applications, optimizing the cards not just for gaming, but also for photo and video editing and other multimedia applications.
In addition, the GPU runs at 775MHz and the memory at 4000MHz. As such, according to the company, the Club 3D HD 5670 is capable of reaching 60% more performance than the HD 4670, as shown by average 3Dmark06 Score at a 2560x1650 resolution.
The cards are naturally compatible with DirectX 11 graphics and support OpenGL, ATI Avivio HD video, ATI CrossFireX, are HDCP-capable and also support an advanced, dynamic power management with the ATI PowerPlay technology.
The distinct feature of Club 3D's card is the aforementioned customized dual-slot cooling solution. The card uses an ultra-quiet 90mm cooling fan. The adapter is designed with D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs and will enhance all gaming, multimedia playback, as well as photo- and video-editing applications.
AMD's HD 5670 graphics card is intended as the mainstream solution for DirectX 11-capable graphics. This new solution was designed for the $100 price point, while still packing a high performance and the application acceleration capabilities of the ATI Stream technology. The board can handle both graphically intensive workloads and even perform part or all DirectX 11 tasks that would normally be handled by the CPU, improving the overall system performance.
The model from Club 3D will deliver excellent graphics and silent cooling, but has a higher price than the stock model, namely of USD145/100 Euro.
