Apple’s acquisition of Lala.com should, one day, materialize into a cloud-based streaming service, and then some, according to most rumors dissecting the topic. A “reliable” Apple source reportedly confirmed that iTunes is getting a huge cloud capability, enabling users to stream music and movies from Apple’s servers to all their devices, as well as to remote devices. Best of all, wireless synchronizing is also on the way for the service, alongside some new, video-capable Apple portables, this Apple source reportedly said.

The Boy Genius Report claims to have been tipped off by one of its “reliable Apple sources” that Apple has exciting plans with iTunes, as of late. The rumor site has been told that “iTunes will be getting a huge cloud capability” that can be broken down into three categories.

1- Streaming music and movies from Apple’s servers to your computers, devices, etc. 2- Streaming music and movies from your home computers to your other computers, remote devices, etc. 3- Wireless iTunes syncing with devices

As far as the first set of functions goes, the source reportedly said that “pretty much any Apple device with wireless capability will have the [sic] ability to stream purchased content directly from Apple’s servers”. This would not only save loads of storage space for consumers, but would also make it more convenient to access their favorite songs and videos, anywhere.

With the addition of a remote streaming capability, consumers would be able to be the content distributors to their own computers and devices. The BGR explains that any purchased content that’s locally stored on the user’s computer will be streamable via their internet connection. Lastly, the site weighs in on wireless syncing, suggesting there is no need for an explanation as to what it does and how much users have been waiting for this feature.

All these announcements are likely to be made at Apple’s traditional fall event, the source claimed, although an early announcement is not excluded. Particularly interesting is the mentioning of “two new devices with camera/camcorder capabilities”, which may launch in tandem with the updated iTunes service.
