A few hours ago, DigitalOcean, the simple and fast cloud hosting service provider, announced it had been hit by a distributed denial-of-service (DDOS) attack that disrupted the company’s website and control panel.

“There is an on-going DDOS attack against digitalocean.com. No hypervisors or customer virtual servers should currently be affected by this attack,” the company wrote on its status page.

Shortly after the attack started, DigitalOcean managed to restore digitalocean.com. However, the attack continued and the hosting service announced that there might still be some intermittent delays.

According to the latest update from the firm, both the website and control panel should be working properly.

“DDoS attacks isn't something you can control. But we have made extensive upgrades/preparations based from past experiences,” DigitalOcean representatives said on Twitter.

No details have been shared regarding the source of the attack.
