Corelane has announced its debut in the App Store with the release of Clonyk for Apple iPhone and iPod touch. Clonyk is a pure casual game with “refreshing and original gameplay,” and is the very first iPhone title in a series to be launched on Apple's portables.

“Corelane is going iPhone! Our very first iPhone game, Clonyk, is already available on the AppStore... Stay tuned, many more games will come soon,” says the company.

Clonyk has players controlling a space form-launcher, whilst preventing lines of geometrical forms from reaching the bottom of the screen. To succeed, the player has to create lines of identical forms and thus destroy them.

The official iTunes App Store description of Clonyk goes,

Looking for a whole new refreshing and entertaining casual game? Then Clonyk is for you!!! It is a pure casual and completely addictive game, with simple rules for great gameplay and maximum pleasure. Prevent lines of items from reaching your space launcher, by making lines of similar items to clear them. You won't see hours fleeing while playing Clonyk.

Main attractions include a highly addictive and deceptively simple gameplay, easy touch controls, 2 game modes (Classic and Arcade), straight gameplay (in Classic mode), bonuses and special items (in Arcade mode), all of which ultimately create a casual experience anyone can enjoy.

Now that you know a bit about the game, let's see some facts about the company and its other titles, so we can paint a picture of what's up next for the iPhone.

According to the developers' website, Corelane is a studio based near Paris, France. Specialized in game development on mobile devices and handeld consoles, it was founded by three veterans of video game development, who came from Lankhor, a well known company in France, according to Corelane. Lankhor is responsible for a multitude of games released on PC, Playstation, Amiga, Atari ST, Amstrad CPC, and Megadrive. Adventure titles like Morteville Manor and Maupiti Island, or RPG games like Black Sect might not ring a bell to today's gamers, but who knows what form any of these can take on the iPhone, should Corelane try to port them. Lankhor's portfolio also includes racing games like Vroom, Official F1 Racing, F1 World Grand Prix and Warm-Up.
