Clonezilla Live, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, has reached version 2.2.4-12 and is now available for download.

The Clonezilla team has published a new stable version for their operating system, 2.2.4-12, and it's packed with more changes and improvements than usual. Most of the time, various smaller packages are updated, but it looks like this latest version is actually quite consistent.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository (as of 2014/Sep/15),” is noted the official announcement.

According to the changelog, the Linux kernel is now at version 3.16.2-3 (the latest one available right now), partclone has been updated to version 0.2.73.drbl1 and it brings better support for f2fs and a new exfat lib, drbl has been updated to version 2.9.22-drbl1, clonezilla has been updated to version 3.10.33-drbl1, Syslinux is now at version 6.03-pre20, and the f2fs-tools, iw, davfs2, fstransform, and rfkill packages have been added.

Clonezilla Live is a Linux distribution that does only one thing: bare metal backup and recovery. It's very similar to other, older pieces of cloning software, such as True Image or Norton Ghost.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Clonezilla Live 2.2.4-12 right now from Softpedia.
