Clonezilla Live 2.2.3-14, a Linux distribution based on DRBL, Partclone, and udpcast that allows users to do bare metal backup and recovery, is now available for download.

The Clonezilla team released a new development version for their Linux distro, but this is not a very large update and it only integrates a small number updates and changes.

“The underlying GNU/Linux operating system was upgraded. This release is based on the Debian Sid repository, as of May 27, 2014,” reads the official announcement.

The Clonezilla developers didn't touch stuff that had anything to do with kernel or the main features. For example, drbl has been updated to version 2.9.2-drbl1, clonezilla has been updated to version 3.10.13-drbl1, and the testing program “ocs-img-2-vdk” has been added (it needs qemu-utils and qemu-kvm packages).

Clonezilla Live is a Linux distribution that does only one thing: bare metal backup and recovery. It's very similar to other, older pieces of cloning software, such as True Image or Norton Ghost.

A complete list of changes, improvements, and fixes can be found in the official announcement. You can download Clonezilla Live 2.2.3-14 right now from Softpedia.

Remember that this is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
