Gears of War 2 is a massive title, following in the footsteps of one of the most popular games ever released on the Xbox 360 console. It has gained critical acclaim for its extremely well-polished areas and broke every record in terms of pre-orders and sales, when it hit the store shelves last week.

The lead designer of this game, Cliff Bleszinski, has definitely been a busy developer lately, heavily promoting Gears of War 2 and lending his rockstar-like image to this extremely popular game. He recently talked about this latest shooter in the series with an Irish radio station where he went on to say quite a lot of interesting things about the development process and when we might expect some DLC (Downloadable Content) packs for the game.

Speaking about the decision to develop a sequel to the first Gears of War, he stated that the development team thought about it and said "Why not? We looked at how well the first game did… it kind of made a lot of sense to do it." He further said that "The story was pretty bare-bones in the first one," and that the sequel allowed the series to "fully explore the situation with Dom’s missing wife." Although he refused to say anything about possible DLC plans, he did state that we might see something "somewhere possibly down the line."

Some very interesting statements, which are sure to make all the Gears of War fans out there happy and further generate speculation about this possible expansion. Thus, we will surely hear a lot of rumors on what this DLC will tackle or where it will take the story of the game.

One thing's for sure though, between the intense single player campaign and the great multiplayer mode, this game will sell extremely well, and the DLC content is yet another reason for players to pick it up and play it this holiday season.
