Cliff Bleszinski is the guy behind one of the most successful shooters developed for the Xbox 360, Gears of War. Now as the clock draws near to the launch of the sequel to that game, he decided to stress  the importance it would have on the market and for the players. He also brought up the problem of piracy in PC gaming, citing it as one of the main causes for not bringing the title to the PC. As you all know, the first Gears of War was available for PC gamers, with a remarkably simple control scheme, unlike other console titles ported to the computer which were too complicated.

Here's what he said about the piracy issue, “The person who is savvy enough to want to have a good PC to upgrade their video card is a person who is savvy enough to know all the elements so they can pirate software. Therefore, high-end videogames are suffering very much on the PC. Right now, it makes sense for us to focus on Xbox 360 for a number of reasons. Not least PCs with multiple configurations and piracy.”

In most cases, it's true, but only because some people choose to pirate games doesn't mean that you shouldn't port a title to the PC. There might still be a glimpse of hope for computer gamers, because as you all know, the first title wasn't ported to the PC by Epic Games, but by a subsidiary, the Polish studio People Can Fly. So let's keep our fingers crossed.

He continued by praising his game, pointing out that it would be something that would make gamers hooked on for quite a long time. “It’s no longer a game: it’s a platform. Each mode is huge. The campaign’s longer, the co-op has two… basically you can play through the campaign and then Horde, as well as the many multiplayer modes.”

All in all, a pretty good game is shaping up for the Xbox 360, but we still have to wait until November 7 to get our hands on it. Till then, we can enjoy the first title.
