Gamers should back ideas rather than criticize developers

Cliff Bleszinski, one of the best-known video game developers working on current-gen consoles, defends the comments from former Microsoft developer Adam Orth linked to the potential always connected nature of the next home console from the company.

He writes on his blog that, “I find it disgusting that an online community would revel in the fact that they may have potentially contributed to a person losing their job.”

The developer suggests that fans who have strong opinions should try to use them to improve gaming with the help of Kickstarter and other crowd funding services.

Cliff Bleszinski has left Epic Games and is currently not associated with any project, but has voiced a number of strong opinions about industry issues.

Speculation suggests that he is preparing to set up his own studio to work on next-generation consoles.
