Since data backup is not exactly any computer user's favorite activity (despite of actually being extremely important in order to keep one's data safe and secure at all times), the people over at Clickfree have come up with a solution that will turn this activity into a virtually effortless one, namely the Clickfree Wireless.

According to the company, the Clickfree Wireless backup drive combines a totally automated backup solution with the benefits provided by a wireless connection and will backup as many computers as the customers needs, both Windows and Mac.

What's really interesting to mention about this backup solution is the fact that Clickfree has completely eliminated the need to download, install and configure software.

In fact, consumers don’t have to know anything about their home’s wireless setup or network configuration, since, by simply plugging the Clickfree Wireless device into each computer and performing an initial backup, all settings will be found and configured, and backups will be done automatically using 802.11n wireless technology.

The device can be placed anywhere in the home, and does not need to be plugged in to any of the computers for it to continue backing up and safeguarding customers’ digital data.

For the time being, the Clickfree Wireless is only availble in 500GB and 1TB versions, but the company claims that larger capacities will be available in Q1 2011.

“Clickfree has made setting up a wireless backup device as easy as just plugging it in to your computer,” said Bryan McLeod, CEO of Storage Appliance Corp.

“With our proprietary Backuplink technology which makes the once complex task of backing up digital content on a network totally effortless, we have ensured everyone can use our Wireless Backup device,” the company's CEO added.

Clickfree Wireless Backup is available as we speak, the MSRP for a 500GB being $179, while the 1TB model is $249.
