Clearwire Communications, LLC, an operating subsidiary of Clearwire Corporation, announced today that it planned on launching a 4G network in the city of Malaga, Spain. Through this move, the company expands its Internet services in Europe for the first time, and will offer connectivity to around 600,000 people, as it will cover the entire metropolitan area of Malaga. Clearwire’s 4G Internet service will come to Spain under the name of Instanet, and should deliver true broadband speeds to users, the company also noted.

The launch of the new service will offer residents in the area the possibility to enjoy the fast speeds WiMAX can deliver no matter whether they are at home, on the street or at the office. The performance of the service is similar with the one offered by Wi-Fi, though it does not come with the short-range limitations traditional hot-sports feature. Clearwire 4G can offer speeds of around 3 to 6 mbp, with peak rates of around 10 mbps.

According to Clearwire, some of the features the new service delivers include:
A mobile professional no longer needs to seek out Wi-Fi hotspots or be constrained by the speeds and limitations of 3G modem cards;
A college student or retiree can now have affordable Internet service to meet their needs at home, on campus and on-the-go;
A commuter can now work or access entertainment sites like YouTube on the way to and from home.

At the same time, the pricing of the service offers great flexibility to users. The Instanet 4G rate plans are available for purchase both with and without service-contract. Moreover, the plans do not come with a usage cap, and their pricing starts at €29.90 a month. A series of other offerings are available for users as well, along with combinations of them, such as one between the 4G Instanet Home and 4G Instanet City, which results in a 50 percent discount for life. Additional details are available here.

Clearwire is excited to bring to Malaga residents, businesses and visitors an Internet experience similar to what they’re used to having at home or the office, anywhere in the metropolitan area or on the go. The commitment of local government along with the region’s status as a technologically-savvy and cultural hub makes Malaga a natural fit,” said Gilberto Sanchez, managing director of Clearwire Spain. “Nearly 600,000 Malaga residents will be able to access the Internet immediately and affordably without the disadvantages or delays of traditional ADSL services.”

My story is an absolutely different one like a dream tale about internet without limit. It is a sad story.
I live in Málaga town in Spain. I had an Instanet service for a while. But I was not satisfied with it. It was working only out of the window. And the download speed was almost zero. That could be started in 360kb/s approximately and right after it reduced till 6kb/s second by second. That was the main downloading speed but sometimes it reached the 60kb/s too at night. "What a rush?"
First when I tried to cancel the service a manager talked with me till I accept to change my service to HOME from CITY. My English is poor so I was persuadable unfortunately. That service was same than the before one was. My second complaint was amazing because the manager told me there is no possibility to cancel service because time was up. I tried to explain him that complain was not about normal cancellation but it was about pure availability. It was because of their breach of contract. They did not provide me what they promised me in the contract. The publicity is everywhere: internet without limit.
After more than half an hour arguing he told me OK and a mechanic would come to me made some measurement to prove the service was fault. He done it and took the components of INSTANET internet service. In two months later I found that instanet had still debited the monthly payment from me. So I stopped it in my bank.
And now I got a letter from a loan shark that I have 83 euros debt etc. I hope it is just a mistake and it is not the character of INSTANET.
Sincerely,
Silvia
