Clearwire Communications, LLC, a subsidiary of Clearwire Corporation, has announced today that its 4G CLEAR network has reached new markets around the country, including Salem and Milledgeville. The new rollout enables users to access the company's mobile Internet service at true broadband speeds, on par with those offered by the wired networks.

“CLEAR is excited to bring to Milledgeville residents and the students at Georgia College & State University the super fast mobile Internet experience they’re used to having at home or the office, anywhere around town or on the go,” said Marc Brachman, general manager, Atlanta. “We’re pleased to provide this community a valuable new category of Internet service designed to make people’s lives more enjoyable and more productive, wherever they happen to be in our coverage area.”

According to the company, the new 4G network, based on WiMAX, offers users an experience similar to the one delivered by Wi-Fi, the big difference being that there are no range limitations as with the former. Moreover, the company also states that users will be able to enjoy mobile download speeds that range on average between 3 and 6Mbps, and which can also reach 10Mbps at their peak.

Clearwire also notes that its services can prove a great option for a wide range of consumers on the market, including parents who would like to have full Internet connectivity for children, college students who need connectivity either at home, on campus or on-the-go, as well as mobile professionals in need of faster speeds than those delivered by 3G.

CLEAR comes with a simple and innovative pricing. For example, the company's Home Internet service plans start at $25 per month, while the mobile Internet plans start at $35 per month. In addition, it also offers users the possibility to purchase a day pass for $10. Other plans are also included in the company's offering, such as the home-and-mobile or mobile-and-mobile Internet plans that start at $50, with a two-year contract agreement. More details on the company's offering can be found on its website.
