MacPaw has updated its all-in-one cleaning utility for Mac OS X,
CleanMyMac. The application boasts capabilities such as an application removal, widget uninstaller, secure file eraser, removal of the languages you don’t need, clear Cache, and more.
Users of MacPaw’s CleanMyMac can delete useless files that pile up over time and waste valuable disk space, as well as slow down their system. Unlike simpler “cleaning” solutions, CleanMyMac combines features such as the ability to slim down Universal Binaries, delete unneeded languages, logs and Caches, Quick Erase, application uninstallation, and the ability to fully erase trash left from buried applications.
The main benefit is that your computer will work faster and smoother after running the program. This happens because CleanMyMac removes stuff that, when loaded, eats up your system's resources. Learn more in our
extensive CleanMyMac review.
With the release of CleanMyMac 1.5.2, the latest version available, MacPaw has added the ability to rebuild the Launch Services database, explaining that this feature can fix possible issues caused by the uninstallation of certain applications (e.g. broken file associations, duplicates in the Finder's "Open with..." list). The app’s error reporting has also been improved. Additionally, MacPaw has successfully tested compatibility with recent
Snow Leopard builds (not yet with 10A432). Lastly, around half a dozen tweaks and fixes have been added (

CleanMyMac 2 is also on its way, "using the latest technologies and amazing design," MacPaw claims. All existing customers will be able to upgrade to CleanMyMac 2 for free.
